A Perfectly Organized Kitchen Drawer

I know, I know, I know!  Drawers…boring, but have you considered how much space you could be saving by organizing these potential little pockets of much-needed space?  Not only that, but the headache of listening to metal clanging when you don’t have time to waste rummaging! 

As with everything else, clean out your drawers and wipe them down.  Donate anything that is a duplicate or unused.  Line the drawers with grip shelf liners from Target, Ace or any home goods retailer.  This keeps everything in its place!

Now, you should create “like” piles.  Silverware should go in one drawer.  Dishrags, napkins and party goods in another.  All plastic wrap, plastic bags and aluminum foil go together.  Any small utensils, measuring cups and measuring spoons should go in a drawer together.  Knives should be kept in a block or on a magnetic strip on your wall.

There are a lot of creative ways to maintain order in your kitchen and the drawers are a great way to regain unused space.  It is also so refreshing to know where everything is!  Here is a list of items everyone should have in their kitchen:

  • Potato Masher
  • Instant Thermometer
  • Small Offset Spatula
